London Howell

I had the absolute privilege of photographing London Howell for some personal and professional portraits.  During our consultation we discussed her main need for a professional headshot and quickly determined we’d have time for personal portraits while we were already in the studio. We decided on a branded shirt for her main headshot to truly showcase FreshCo, a cleaning and restoration company based out of Hutchinson, Kansas.  London and Ray, her husband, are the owners of FreshCo who built their business from the ground up and recently expanded their company’s breadth by adding foundation repair to their services. When it comes to restoration, look no further! FreshCo’s technicians are certified and insured to perform all work safely using the most up-to-date equipment and professional certifications.

Those who have had their run-in with mold or water damage know it’s nothing to sneeze at. It can have lasting impact on one’s home and, sometimes worse, one’s health. That’s how London and Ray got started. They saw the need in the community for professional and honest cleaning and restoration services so they took the steps to become trained and certified in mold inspection and remediation, trauma and crime scene cleanup, water restoration, and applied structural drying.

This allowed them to help those who are in dire environmental situations, particularly those who are unsure of what to do next or have limited options. During our time together she shared stories of hoarder cleanups and other dirty jobs that were, sadly, accompanied by distraught family members who were unaware of their loved one’s living conditions. London emphatically said, “I want people to come to us when they need help with a severe cleanup job and to know they can trust us to do it professionally and respectfully.”

When I asked London how she envisioned her future, she simply told me: volunteering and helping others during catastrophic natural disasters. A life where she and Ray can pick up and go at a moment’s notice to faraway places.

I actually drafted this blog a few weeks back but hadn’t published it. And now I’m glad I didn’t because I can personally testify as to the professionalism and incredible service FreshCo provides their customers. I mean, I didn’t ask for my basement to flood (though I will say it was minor compared to what others have experienced) but boy am I glad I knew who to call.  I knew FreshCo would be busy as others were experiencing similar disasters in their homes, but they came out from Hutchinson to Derby to help us identify the source of the flood and what our next steps were in the restoration process. Ben, the wonderful technician who came to our home, professionally explained where the water entered from, how to dry the walls and remove moisture, and options to safely retain our carpet (sans the pad underneath, yuck!). All the while he gave us price range for a DIY option, an equipment rental option, and a full-service you-just-say-go-and-we-will-take-care-of-it-all-for-you option. And you know what I absolutely loved about the whole experience? He educated us. He explained how timeline and techniques affected the drying process and the conditions needed to give mold a nice new home. That to me is what top-notch service is all about: educating your client and serving them to meet their needs! Bravo, FreshCo!
